Inexplicable rules

Why do due items not show up under due tab unless I put a start date in them? Thats unintuitive.

The calendar is obtuse and impractical. The dots dont show up on days with tasks due, only when the have start dates? Why?

Why does it not integrate with Apple calendar? I bought this to synthesize lists with calendars but its turning out to be more work to manage than using Apple native apps. The rules when a task shows up on calendar is not always clear.

I put an item to start and be due on the same day but without a time. Yet organizing items under "start", it shows up a day early. Why?

I dont understand some of the rules and there is zero explanation. I juuuust want to put a date on an item and it show up on the list for that date...
